Research Interests

Becky's research explores printing education between 1890 and 1990, a period that witnessed the rise and fall of the printing schools.  She is interested in particular in the life and work of Leonard Jay (1925-53), Head of the Birmingham School of Printing.

Becky is Printer in Residence at Winterbourne Letterpress, and is currently assisting Lee Hale, Head of Winterbourne House and Garden, in the development of a programme of events and workshops.  Becky is a practicing artist and exhibiting printer who combines academic research with printing practice through a range of methodologies.  Her work is inspired by collections, curiosities, archives, type and printed ephemera.
