Type Talks: Sarah Hyndman

BCU Type talks in collaboration with Typewrite and Birmingham Design welcomes Sarah Hyndman to Show & Tell.

Join Sarah Hyndman for a Sketchbook Type Safari

Sarah will talk about the history ‘hidden’ in the letterforms on the signs that surround her in East London. You’ll then take your sketchbooks on a Type Safari and draw the letterforms that reflect your environment. What will your collection of letters reveal about your life?

Sarah Hyndman is the author of the bestselling book 'Why Fonts Matter', a TEDx speaker, a regular on BBC Radio 4 and an occasional guest on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. She has been researching and writing about typography and perception since 2013 and co-publishes studies with Professor Charles Spence of the University of Oxford.

Join us for a 20-40 min creative burst of activity and fun at our summer school Show & Tell. After the session, particpants will take a short break away from the screen to complete the task then re-join us in the ZOOM Gallery for a show & tell. All creative enthusiasts and abilities welcome.
