October’s visit with the Centre for Printing History & Culture will be to the Cadbury Research Library (University of Birmingham) to view the James Mosley Collection.
James Mosley (1935-2025) was an esteemed librarian, teacher, historian and typographic scholar. For nearly fifty years he worked at the St Bride Library in London and was know for his tireless efforts to preserve the material legacy of printing.
James Mosley’s papers are currently being accessioned into the CRL along side his collection of rare books. We will have the chance to see some of the materials which have been catalogued during the first phase of the project, and the archivists will also be giving us an insight into the planning and various stages required of an archival project like this.
The visit will be approximately 1.5 hours.
