Join us for a visit to the beautiful Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, Birmingham.

Alongside the Church we will visit the Cardinal’s Library established by St. John Henry Newman in the nineteenth century, it houses a significant collection of theological books, including early Church Father works and a Polyglot Bible. The library contains many books that belonged to Cardinal Newman, reflecting his studies in history, theology, and the early Church.

In addition, Newman’s possessions, manuscripts and liturgical objects are available for general viewing in the Oratory Museum which contains many precious historical items, including pages from the manuscripts of the Apologia and The Dream of Gerontius, the chalice with which Newman celebrated Mass and personal articles such as his spectacles and Rosary beads.
